Oh yeah, there are a lot of Jim Smiths.  Here are a few facts about Jim.

Daughter Sandra Lee Bowen and Hubby Paul moved to Sunny Valley Or.,  a few years ago. This is located about ten minutes from our place.  They bought an unfinished home on five acres  and have really fixed it up.  Their daughter lives in Sacramento with her brother Adam. She will attend Sacramento State.    Paul is recovering from a major industrial accident which left him a paraplegic.  It has been about a year and a half now and some feeling is returning to his legs.   Doctors say he will walk again but it has been a really tough struggle.

Various thoughts on my religious background  goto

When I was  looking for early California people from the Cuyama, I became interested in Early California History.
I also found an interesting book doing this search.  It is written by a Peter H. Burnett who lived in the eighteen hundreds and became a member of the Oregon Legislature, the California Legislature, an early Governor of California  and a Supreme Court Judge in California.   This book was first copywrited in 1880.  As a lawyer he defended Joseph Smith in Missouri. I have taken the liberty to copy the pages 52 to 68 for the edification of my Mormon friends.   goto
